| (1863-4 Aug. 1936), general merchant and farmer. Born at The Cedars, Que. He was a farmer in the Vankleek Hill area, then operated a general store at L’Orignal. In 1918 he bought “Fraserfield,” one of the famous GC estates, his home for the remainder of his life. On 2 July 1934, a fire destroyed the large barn and outbuildings at Fraserfield. (//Glengarry News// 6 July 1934) Joseph D. Bougie died at Fraserfield. (twelve children) He was married to Eulalie Besner (d. 1960). Their children included Émile Bougie and Mgr J. H.
