====== McDougall, Aeneas ====== (died 24 March 1939, aged 77), contractor or working associate of contractors. (Aeneas was a version of the Scottish name Angus) Born in western GC or in eastern Stormont County, on the South Branch, near Cornwall. The location almost certainly was Lot A, Concession 3, Cornwall Township. Parents: Duncan McDougall (1814-1892) and his wife Grace Cameron (1821-1887). He was described in his obituary as having “followed railroading all his life.” He remained unmarried. At least in their later years, he lived with his brother A. D. McDougall, who was at that time a resident of Portland, Ore. It was remembered that Aeneas McDougall revisited his old home on the South Branch several times over the years. He left relatives in Glengarry and Stormont County, including a nephew, J. A. Chisholm, of R. R. 1, Martintown, who was mentioned in the //Standard-Freeholder// obituary as having received word of his death. Aeneas McDougall, who was the last surviving of his parents’ family of nine children, died in Seattle. Roman Catholic. He was buried in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Portland, Ore. The present dictionary includes his brothers A. D., George, and J. A. McDougall. ---- //Oregonian// 27 March 1939 (funeral notice), //Standard Freeholder// 7 April 1939 (QF) * parents’ gravestone, new cemetery, St. Andrew’s West * //Belden Atlas// 18 (father’s farm?) * //The Story of St. Andrews West as Recorded on the Index Cards of Edwin McDonald//, ed.
